4 elements of hip hop:
For students in Grades 6 - 12
Our 4 Elements Program aims to train well-rounded artists by offering classes rooted in the 4 elements of hip hop: Breaking (breakdancing), DJing, MCing (rapping), and Writing (graffiti/street art). The “Breaking” element is covered in our dance classes (Beat Street or Rhythm Riders), and the three other elements have been combined into two weekly classes: Music and Visual Art.
In Music (Intro to production), students will learn the basics of beatmaking/music production and writing lyrics/rapping. They will experiment with the many different areas of hip hop music and will practice being creative each week.
In Visual Art, students will have the opportunity to collaborate with others while trying new techniques in colour theory, graffiti writing and many different mediums. Artists will be encouraged to push the limits of their imagination and build new relationships with like-minded individuals! Dance, Music, and Visual Art can be taken as a full program or as individual classes.
