Rhythm riders/Krush groove:

Rhythm Riders and Krush Groove are The Heart of Riverdale's elite training programs for street styles (hip hop, house & breaking).
Our Pre-Professional Programming is open to students by audition only.

Monthly installment plans over 11 months are available and include a 5% installment charge. The first payment is due the day of registration, and subsequent payments are due on the 1st of each month from September 1st to June 1st.
*Please note that the monthly prices stated are NOT monthly payments - they are installments as all participants must commit to the full year.

Important Dates & Performances 2024/2025:
- August 27: First day of classes!
- September 2: Labour Day (school closed Aug 31-Sept 2)
- September 30: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (school closed)
- October 14: Thanksgiving day (school closed Oct. 12-14)
- November 7-13 (tentative): Rep Development Project. Dancers must be available all day on the Monday (stat holiday), Saturday, and Sunday, and from 4-8 pm on other days (school days).
- December 23-January 5: Winter Break (studio closed)
- January 6: Classes Resume
- January 6-10: In-studio rehearsals for Polar night, maybe additional to regular class times.
- Jan 13-26: Polar Night tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals, & performances (mandatory for all dancers). (No regular programming at the Heart!)
- February 21: Heritage Day (school closed Feb. 21-23)
- March 10-23: Spring Break (no classes)
- April 18-21: Easter Break (no classes)
- April 22 - 30 (tentative): Educational Dance Trip to Montreal & New York (no regular programming at the Heart)
- May 1-16: In-studio production rehearsals. Schedule will be sent out before the trip.
- May 17-19: May Long weekend (no classes, studio closed)
- May 20-26: "Art from the Heart" tech rehearsals (no regular programming at the Heart).
- May 27 - June 1: "Art from the Heart" dress rehearsals and shows (no regular programming at the Heart).
- June 9-12 (tentative): Auditions for 2025/2026 season.

Other Commitments:
Outside of the January Production and the Year-End Show, there are other important commitments associated with being a part of Krush Groove and Rhythm Riders. Dancers must attend all By The Rock battles. It is important for dancers to participate in battles, as it gives them a sense of what a good performer is. The more they see strong performers, the better their own performance quality will become.
Required Dance Clothing & Supplies for all Rhythm Riders & Krush Groove students:
Please make sure your student has all of these items for their classes and performances, and support them in arriving at the studio a few minutes early for each class with everything they need.
The first week of classes begins on Monday, August 27st, 2024, the first scheduled performance is in January 2025.

- Comfortable clothing to move in (i.e: sweatpants and a t-shirt), NO jeans
- Clean indoor running shoes, NO outdoor shoes permitted
